AMBCQ Merdeka Day Cocktails and Launch of Malaysia Month 2023

The AMBCQ has collaborated with the Brisbane City Council to light up Brisbane City Hall in the colours of the Malaysian flag.  Watch Brisbane City Hall light up in the colours of the Malaysian flag and enjoy drinks and refreshments in honour of Merdeka Day (commemorating Malaya's independence). 

From the vantage point of the Pig 'n' Whistle King George Square we will have the perfect view for the lighting of City Hall. Your entry fee of $40 per person ($35 per person for AMBCQ members) covers a selection of drinks (including two types of cocktails) and finger food; when the bar tab is exhausted, additional drinks and food will be available from the bar on a cash basis.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the formation of Malaysia, and in recognition of this milestone, the AMBCQ is hosting the first ever Malaysia Month - with events from the 31st August through to the 30th September. There are more exciting events coming up including the lighting up of Parliament in the Malaysian flag colours for Malaysia Day on the 16th September.
